The Bible says, in Romans 12:12, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." As followers of Jesus, we are often called upon to pray for the needs of others - for physical or emotional healing, for restoration of relationships, to meet a very practical need, for guidance in an important decision, and so on. And it is a privilege to intercede in prayer for others in these very real world situations. In the third chapter of the book of Ephesians, we hear the Apostle Paul challenge us to ALSO "pray beyond" these immediate earthly troubles. He presents four additional types of petitions to present to our Heavenly Father on others' behalf. In todays message, we see how these requests focus on deepening and maturing the faith of others - and ourselves - in Christ.
