At the beginning of the Gospel of Mark, Jesus had begun His ministry solo, but we see in these verses that He quickly began calling men who would come along with Him as His disciples. The first 4 men were fishermen by trade. When Jesus said, "Come follow me...and I will send you out to fish for people", they left their nets at once and followed Him. In His call, He accomplished 2 objectives which we will study today.
