Why do we celebrate the birth of Jesus? Why did Jesus have to come to earth?
As humans, we all have a common trait - the sin that entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve has been passed through every generation and into every person. Another word the Bible uses for sin is "darkness." This deadly trait makes it impossible for us to be in a relationship with the One True God, the God of the Bible.
Jesus is the Light that overcomes the darkness of sin and gives us life. This is why we celebrate His birth! When we place our trust in Jesus the Light of the World, we become children of the Light and His light should shine through us!
